Sterling silver darkens slowly in air. Store the ring dry, in a pouch of its own, and take it off before you swim or shower. Wipe it with a dry, soft cloth after wear, and use a silver polishing cloth when the silver darkens.
Enamel can chip against harder pieces: keep the ring apart from other jewellery when you store it.
